Hello…This is my first time on this site and I love it…I am a Peoria native that moved out in 1975. I went through all the landmarks that you have, they are excellent. Many of them I didn’t even know about and trust me my friends,my brothers and their friends and I roamed all over the place as kids in the 60’s and 70’s. I can think of some you may be interested in adding.Perhaps a front view picture of Harrison school at the “Iron Gates” as it was referred to in the day. Its a large arch shaped entrance facing Krause street, but go in the day time. :)
Or if any of you ever roamed the woods behind Trewyn park there was before the mid 70’s a sand pit that had lizards, we use to catch them as kids running barefoot on that 10 zillion degrees hot sand….also ( I could go on forever) :) but there was a picture of an old abandoned factory that one of you took back behind Darst street..We use to play in that building in the late 60’s and early 70’s…It was an old ice factory and it was struck by lightning and left just for us to skip school and hang out in…or so it seemed.I thought they tore it down till I saw the pics in this site. You may be able to tell I grew up in the south end, so I know the area well…If you need any help with some stuff write me at my e-mail address…Thanks

Funny thing is, Mazr, until LeTumba lets me know, I’m in the dark too. To think I might have to drive around the warehouse district looking for this myself. I like the picture though.

I too think this building is on/near water street, but the name escapes me.

Doesn’t look like the old Glen Oak GS…too many real windows and the fire escape never looked like that when we climbed it in the 70’s. I’d have to go with the old Pabst building in the Heights.

My other rough guess is builders warehouse on Washington

Indeed, it is the rear of the Cohen’s building…
