272 – Upper Free Bridge Road

Ross is correct in all except the name of the road, “I think this is over in East Peoria, next to the junkyard near McCluggage bridge. I believe it’s Grossenbach Hill Road. That road keeps going past the little gate and you end up in the marhslands or whatever right next to the river,” but Google Maps calls it Grossenback Hill Road, so it seems the names may be interchangable.

This is a roadt hat is accessible off Darst Street, as I believe, that goes down into industrialbrownfield area that is the site of the future/planned/hoped-for Eagle Ridge (?) development.

Nah, I think this is over in East Peoria, next to the junkyard near McCluggage bridge. I believe it’s Grossenbach Hill Road. That road keeps going past the little gate and you end up in the marhslands or whatever right next to the river.

I grew up on Grosenbach Road and I can tell you this much – that IS NOT Grosenbach Road. I do know the upper free bridge was where MaCluggauge Bridge stands now, so it very well could be the road that runs parallel to or along side the junk yard near there, but please do not mistaken it for my beloved Grosenbach Road.

This is indeed what was or use to be called Upper Free Bridge Rd. and the bridge was not located as said in previous post it was located at the end of this road crossed the river and ended next to the Peoria Water Works building just below Grandview Drive. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McClugage_Bridge
