Peoria Loan and Homestead Association.
1211 SW Adams (thanks, Josh). A google search came up empty to the history of this place; all I could find is that currently Peoria Transportation Systems occupies it, whoever they are.
A commenter who I would like to thank (and who I’m not sure wants his name published or not) submitted this photo along with the text-
It is on South Adams Street.
It was the location of Peoria Savings and Loan which for most of its life was in the 100 block of South Jefferson where the Becker Building now stands.
The institution became part of River ValleySavings Bank and now First Bank.

I was 99% sure where this was but I wanted to make sure. It is 1211 SW Adams in between Advance Shade & Blind and an $0.08 shoe repair store. Not sure what this building is now.

The building at 1211 SW Adams is owned by Peoria Transportation Systems , which operates Peoria Yellow Checker Cab and various other Transportation companies in the area. Be on the lookout, because this building will be up for lease in the very near future. Very cool building, complete with very old vaults.

Oddly, this is in the same block as the site of the home of my great-great-grandparents who emigrated to Peoria from Germany in the 1850s! From what I learned doing research in the Genealogy Dept. at the Peoria Public Library, they lived at the address a few doors down which is now occupied by “Skippy & Floyd’s Barbershop.” I doubt that the barbershop building
dates back to the 1850s, but if you go around to the back and drive
down Meyer Alley, it clearly is one old, old building. I go back for a look at this block every time I get home from CA.
