septboy says: “clubhouse for the WillowKnolls neighborhood pool”

As far as I know, the only neighborhood pool in town, supported by the neighborhood association and located just off of North University near the bottom of the hill (between Northmoor & Willow Knolls Rd.) You can see it from the road driving South when the trees lose their leaves.

I didn’t expect to find anything by googling this, but to my surprise…

Gary is correct, it’s the Riverplex inside the main hall. I’m not a member, but I’ve been there at least a couple dozen times and never noticed this. I guess I never looked up!

210 – Peoria Zoo Construction

December 10th, 2007

Alan Says: Its the new bridge at the Peoria Zoo. I was working out there for a few weeks this summer. I’m not sure where this photo was taken from, but I do know that somewhere along the bridge there will be a giraffe feeding area.

This is the walking bridge that lines the ‘Savanna Grassland’ which features Giraffes, Rhinos and Zebras.peoria_landmark_210.jpg

A view of the Lion’s Den. The rock in the center is heated, giving the Lion a good reason to sit there in dramatic fashion. The boulders are made of re-bar, wrapped with wire mesh, sprayed with a cement mixture, spray painted, and finally hand-painted by an artist to produce the rich colors, shadowing and weathered effects.peoria_landmark_210d.jpg

209 – New Hope Deliverance Church

Billy says… “It’s the new Hope Deliverance Church. You see this sign when you travel down N.E. Adams away from downtown towards the Near North Side and Averyville.

I know absolutely nothing about this church, nor can I find anything about it on the internet, but since Anon E Mouse seconded his motion, I’ll believe it.  All I know is this sign has been up as long as I can remember… it has had it’s better days.

Above the front door, etched into the curved cement header, it reads “Mennonite Gospel Mission”
