The site of my first job – working for Ron and Joe at good old Gene’s. They had three rules there: No Lying, Cheating or Stealing. That, and I had to wear pants, not shorts, because I’m a guy.
Boss’ daughter (who also worked there) used to put pickle juice in my soda because she didn’t like me for some reason. I didn’t like cleaning the grill with that black brick thingy, taking the garbage to the dumpster (think of spoiled melted ice-milk in the hot summer), or washing the steam-table containers (really harsh detergent), so I usually chose to mop the floor when I had the choice.
Not a bad place for a first job. Made me realize I never wanted to work in food service again.
